Inman Aligners in London

If you’re not happy with your front (anterior) teeth and feel as though straightening them out could help you achieve that perfect smile you want, then the Inman Aligner could help.

Focusing specifically on this area of your mouth, treatment is often quick and relatively pain-free, offering a cost-effective solution to those who suffer from mild to moderate protrusion and crowding.

Inman Aligners is a removable appliance can be used to provide results on its own, or as preparation for a larger cosmetic dental procedure.

How do they work?

Ideally, the Inman Aligner should be worn for a minimum of 20 hours per day, as any less will see the treatment take longer to complete.

Teeth are moved into the desired position via a pair of nickel titanium coil springs and aligner bows that gently push against each other. This squeezing motion may cause very slight discomfort at first, but will ease off in time.

As part of the treatment, you will need to visit your dentist for a checkup every two to three weeks, so they can adjust the aligner accordingly to ensure optimum results.

What are the advantages?

There are several benefits to wearing the Inman Aligner:

  • Cases are generally finished within 18 weeks – and can take as short as six weeks depending on what is being corrected. This is dramatically shorter than if you were to wear invisible braces – which can take between six months and two years to complete – because it focuses solely on the front teeth, rather than the entire mouth.
  • You can remove your Inman Aligner for eating and drinking, meaning you don’t have to give up your favourite things while having treatment.
  • It’s safe – while there are always risks associated with orthodontic treatment, this is minimal with the Inman Aligner.

Will having an Inman Aligner affect my day to day life?

Because Inman Aligner treatment can be completed in such a short space of time, you’ll find that any differences you have to get used to while wearing it are certainly not for the long term.

One thing you may notice when you first start wearing it is your speech, with certain words harder to pronounce. However, this is generally the case for all orthodontic treatments and you will find that after a week or two, you will have acclimatised.

While it’s possible to consume food and drink you may otherwise have to avoid with fixed braces, you should make sure you always remember to remove your Inman Aligner before eating or drinking to avoid damaging the device itself and, of course, your teeth.

Compliance is key to the success of the treatment – and you should remain disciplined with how much time it spends out of your mouth. For the best results, this should be as little as possible.

After you have finished using the Inman Aligner, you will need to use a retainer to ensure your teeth remain in the position they have been moved to. This is the same for every orthodontic procedure.
