CFast Braces in London

There are plenty of reasons why you may be unhappy with your smile. Crooked teeth, gaps and overbites are just some of the conditions that can make people feel self-conscious, unconfident or uncomfortable. However, there is a solution to make these problems go away.

CFast braces does exactly what it says on the tin – with results clearly visible after a relatively short period of time. Compared with the 18-24 months some orthodontic treatments take to straighten out teeth, you’ll really see the difference without having to wait around.

What are the benefits of CFast?

In addition to the speed of the treatment time suggested by the name, CFast is also comfortable and unobtrusive. The image of orthodontic braces used to be one of unsightly metal tracks across the teeth – but this is no longer the case.

Discreet white wires are used to provide an aesthetically-pleasing solution to ensure you won’t be afraid to grin while your treatment is underway.

You also don’t have to worry about painful visits to the dentist, as the procedure is of a gentle nature – and once you’ve had around a week to get used to them, you’ll barely notice they are there.

How does CFast work?

To start, your dentist will take photographs, impressions and X-rays of your mouth, to check that your teeth are ready to be moved. Following this, the results are used to manufacture tailor-made braces to ensure you get exactly what you desire at the end of the procedure.

If you suffer from severe overcrowding, then you may need to have some teeth removed before the brace can be fitted. If the problem is not too bad, then your dentist may simply remove small amounts of enamel to create space inside your mouth.

The white nickel titanium wires are then optimised to move only the teeth that show when you smile – and this is why the treatment can make a difference so quickly.

Do I need to do anything after having the treatment?

Like all braces, you need to be wary of what you consume and how you go about your daily business during and after CFast treatment.

One thing that is recommended is the wearing of a retainer once the braces have been removed, to ensure the teeth do not ‘relapse’ and move back to their previous positions.

Similarly, when wearing the braces you should avoid the following:

  • Hard or chewy food
  • Fizzy, sugary drinks
  • Playing contact sport

What is the difference between CFast and Invisalign?

With so many different products on the market now to help with orthodontic correction, it’s often confusing as to which may be the best for you.One common question is whether another treatment – Invisalign – may be more suitable. The answer depends on what your priorities are.

You will find treatment time for CFast is much shorter, while it can provide better results for tooth movements like extrusions and rotations. However, Invisalign is a more discreet treatment as it utilises clear aligners, as opposed to the subtle white wires used by Six Month Smiles.
