4 Easy Tips to Treat Your Gum Disease

Do you know the best treatment for gum disease? According to top-notch dentists in London, it is prevention. Yes, gum diseases are so damaging that it is better to prevent them in the first place than getting them treated. Unfortunately, the reality is quite different from their expectation. Invariably, 3 out of every 4 adults above 35 suffer from gum diseases at some point of time or other in their life.

However, the silver lining around the darkest cloud is the treatment for gum diseases like gingivitis is easy and effective. Once the treatment is over, you will stick to a simple oral hygiene routine to prevent its reoccurrence.

Here are some tips to follow to resolve the problem:

  • Improve your overall oral care routine: As the first step, you have to remove the plaque build-up and then you have to reduce the harmful bacteria in the mouth that creates plaque. These goals can be achieved by properly brushing the teeth twice a day and using fluoride toothpaste. You may use a soft-bristled toothbrush. Along with brushing, you should also floss your teeth in a proper way once daily. At the same time, you should also put some restraint on sugary foods and drinks in your daily diet. If there’s a significant plaque build-up, it is necessary to visit a dental hygienist for scaling and polishing.
  • Remove the harmful bacteria hidden below the gum line: Harmful bacteria remain hidden below the gum line. Regular brushing is ineffective and flossing is only partially helpful in removing them. To tackle this issue, a specially designed two-pronged brush with soft bristles is available in the market. Start using this oral-care product to keep your gum line clean of the harmful bacteria.
  • Make use of mouthwashes: Include a mouthwash in your dental care routine, to keep away gum diseases. The mouthwash can either be natural or a medicated one. Whichever one you may choose, wait for at least 5 minutes after brushing to rinse the mouth with the mouthwash. This gap ensures the fluoride in your toothpaste plays its role in keeping your mouth healthy before the mouthwash takes over the responsibility.
  • Don’t stop brushing even if your gums are sore and bleeding: A reputed dentist in London at Museum Dental Suites says, it’s crucial that you continue brushing with inflamed gums. Brushing won’t be a pleasant experience with sore or bleeding gums, but yet you should continue with this dental care activity. Brushing minimises the volume of harmful bacteria and it offers higher chances of curing your gum infection faster.

Follow these tips and bid “good bye” to your problem of soring, inflamed gums.

I have been undertaking a cosmetic treatment (Invisalign) for around eight months here, off the back of a recommendation of a friend who had the same treatment. The professionalism and perfectionism with which my treatment was delivered was outstanding, as was the general service and were all of the staff I encountered.

My dentist Dr. Wahab Shakir was particularly great, with a friendly, reassuring manner and an eye for detail. He always went above and beyond, without ever being asked.

I'm now almost at the end of my treatment and couldn't be more pleased with how treatment has gone. Given the service and end result I'd also consider it excellent value for money.

Keep up the good work Museum Dental Suites!

Firstly what a great dentist, all the staff were friendly and very helpful as this was my first time here.

I had called for an emergency appointment due to a sudden cracked tooth and Dr Wahab Shakir despite the end of day fast approaching (30 minutes till close) he said he would see me.

The treatment was not straight forward due to the crack but Dr Shakir after a lengthy time managed to save the tooth/restore it and prevent what I believe most dentists would have done which install a crown - Thank you!

Highly recommend this dentist and service and I am grateful for not only seeing me within an hour but also staying passed closing time and finally for doing a Stella job.

Marios, my dentist is extremely patient and cares about your dental care and the service you receive. Just received my new dentures and they have been done to a very high standard and am very pleased. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the treatment/service I received.

Best dentist ever hands down. Least painful and least scary experiences here (I'm usually really scared of going to the dentist, and even find the initial anaesthetic injection painful) - they really care about the patient, and making sure you're comfortable, results are also fab. Seriously can't imagine a better dentist!
