Is Invisalign Right Treatment for Me?

This is the question we get from almost every patient during their appointment with the orthodontist, and we thought we should handle it at once. When the word ‘braces’ is mentioned, the most likely thing that gets into people’s mind is Invisalign. We can attribute this to its global marketing campaign and beautiful benefits. They are sets of clear, removable aligners that gently guide your teeth into the new position.

The primary reason for choosing Invisalign treatment is its discretion. These very transparent aligners assume the colour of your teeth and become almost invisible in your mouth. Another reason is the fact that it is not fixed. Patients do not have to stick to foods they do not like because of braces. With Invisalign, there is almost no hindrance to what you can eat; only take out the braces before eating them.

Since everyone is now turning towards Invisalign, it is good to know that these aligners have been improved to handle a wide range of orthodontic cases.

There is no age limitation with Invisalign

In orthodontics, there is no special consideration given to age when considering Invisalign for treatment. Teens, just like adults, can benefit from it. As long as most of the teeth on your mouth are natural and healthy, you will be suitable for Invisalign.

Invisalign has also designed some sets of aligners for teenagers. Since you cannot trust teens to be faithful enough to wear the braces for the right amount of time, the company attaches indicators that notify when they wear them. Now, you can monitor them correct their teeth even when you are not there. This brace also comes with a unique design that gives room for the eruption of molars in younger people.

Invisalign works well for treating a wide range of orthodontic cases

Invisalign is useful in treating a lot of malocclusions. Malocclusion means bad bite and is used to describe orthodontic problems. We use Invisalign to fix overbite and other malocclusions like:

  • Crowding: these teeth do not have enough space; hence they look crooked and overlapped.
  • Overbite: here, the upper teeth cover almost all of the lower front teeth
  • Underbite: the bottom of the lower teeth covers some parts of the upper teeth
  • Open bite: a condition where the teeth do not bite properly
  • Spacing: This is when there are spaces between the teeth
  • Crossbite: the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth with a closed mouth

People with dental attachments like crowns, veneers, and implants can use Invisalign

Some patients still pick interest in orthodontic treatments even when they have already undergone some form of cosmetic dental treatments like crowns or veneers. Though people’s cases are different, we can generally move some teeth even if they are false crowns or veneers. However, we do not move implants. We can only move the teeth surrounding the implant.

The right answer to whether or not Invisalign is suitable for you is dependent on your situation and general oral health. To get a specific answer, contact your local Invisalign dentist at Museum Dental Suites and have a personalised session.

reviews-star.pngHighly recommend Museum Dental Suite. Their work is of the highest calibre, professional and friendly. I'm very thankful they for excellent aftercare advice and for making me relaxed and so well treated. I've recommended them to both my family and friends.

reviews-star.pngI have been undertaking a cosmetic treatment (Invisalign) for around eight months here, off the back of a recommendation of a friend who had the same treatment. The professionalism and perfectionism with which my treatment was delivered was outstanding, as was the general service and were all of the staff I encountered.

My dentist Dr. Wahab Shakir was particularly great, with a friendly, reassuring manner and an eye for detail. He always went above and beyond, without ever being asked.

I'm now almost at the end of my treatment and couldn't be more pleased with how treatment has gone. Given the service and end result I'd also consider it excellent value for money.

Keep up the good work Museum Dental Suites!

reviews-star.pngFirstly what a great dentist, all the staff were friendly and very helpful as this was my first time here.

I had called for an emergency appointment due to a sudden cracked tooth and Dr Wahab Shakir despite the end of day fast approaching (30 minutes till close) he said he would see me.

The treatment was not straight forward due to the crack but Dr Shakir after a lengthy time managed to save the tooth/restore it and prevent what I believe most dentists would have done which install a crown - Thank you!

Highly recommend this dentist and service and I am grateful for not only seeing me within an hour but also staying passed closing time and finally for doing a Stella job.

reviews-star.pngThis is a top notch dentist who makes you feel at ease which for someone liked me is important. The staff are very professional, polite, courteous and friendly. Marios, my dentist is extremely patient and cares about your dental care and the service you receive. Just received my new dentures and they have been done to a very high standard and am very pleased. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the treatment/service I received.

reviews-star.pngBest dentist ever hands down. Least painful and least scary experiences here (I'm usually really scared of going to the dentist, and even find the initial anaesthetic injection painful) - they really care about the patient, and making sure you're comfortable, results are also fab. Seriously can't imagine a better dentist!

reviews-star.pngAfter lots of research I was very happy with the results and the service at Museum Dental. 100% I would recommend to a friend. I couldn't be more pleased.

Look your best, feel your best, expect the best.
