How do You Maintain Your Invisalign Aligners

With a little TLC at your reach, it should be effortless to maintain a squeaky clean look from your Invisalign clear aligners. Are you new to wearing Invisalign aligners? Follow the steps below to keep them in sparkling condition.

  1. Clean them twice daily

You will wear your Invisalign aligners for most of the day, about 20 to 22 hours. Hence, you have to keep them clean and fresh. This freshness is not only dependent on your aligners but your teeth too. Start with healthy oral hygiene by brushing and flossing.

Do not forget that you will brush and floss your teeth immediately after every meal. However, you should clean your Invisalign aligners twice: when you are brushing in the morning or at night.

Use unscented hand soap with antibacterial properties and a soft brush to clean your aligners. Rinse off with clean lukewarm water when you are through. Avoid using toothpaste; they may be too harsh on the aligners and may cause abrasion or scratch. It is also wise to keep a special soft toothbrush for the same reasons.

  1. Always take them off before drinking

Wearing clean and bright aligners is easy with Invisalign. You will change them once every two weeks; hence, they have little or no chance to discolour. However, this is not an assurance that they cannot stain during the two weeks in your mouth. Ensure you take them out when you want to eat or drink anything apart from water. Also, remember to rinse your teeth before wearing them back quickly.

  1. Put them in the protective case whenever you are not wearing them

It is vital to keep your aligners clean, but you will not have anything to maintain if you misplace them. Always keep your aligners in the provided protective case when you are not wearing or soaking them. The handbags, purses or tabletops are not the best places for them.

  1. Soak them for appropriate cleaning

Daily cleaning will keep your aligners looking good, but a weekly soaking in special cleaning agents for aligners will make it pristine. Follow the instructions while soaking your aligners to ensure it lasts its life span. Avoid using hot water while soaking your aligners. They are made of plastic and may not be strong enough to resist the heat. Lukewarm water works best.

Highly recommend Museum Dental Suite. Their work is of the highest calibre, professional and friendly. I'm very thankful they for excellent aftercare advice and for making me relaxed and so well treated. I've recommended them to both my family and friends.

I have been undertaking a cosmetic treatment (Invisalign) for around eight months here, off the back of a recommendation of a friend who had the same treatment. The professionalism and perfectionism with which my treatment was delivered was outstanding, as was the general service and were all of the staff I encountered.

My dentist Dr. Wahab Shakir was particularly great, with a friendly, reassuring manner and an eye for detail. He always went above and beyond, without ever being asked.

I'm now almost at the end of my treatment and couldn't be more pleased with how treatment has gone. Given the service and end result I'd also consider it excellent value for money.

Keep up the good work Museum Dental Suites!

Firstly what a great dentist, all the staff were friendly and very helpful as this was my first time here.

I had called for an emergency appointment due to a sudden cracked tooth and Dr Wahab Shakir despite the end of day fast approaching (30 minutes till close) he said he would see me.

The treatment was not straight forward due to the crack but Dr Shakir after a lengthy time managed to save the tooth/restore it and prevent what I believe most dentists would have done which install a crown - Thank you!

Highly recommend this dentist and service and I am grateful for not only seeing me within an hour but also staying passed closing time and finally for doing a Stella job.

This is a top notch dentist who makes you feel at ease which for someone liked me is important. The staff are very professional, polite, courteous and friendly. Marios, my dentist is extremely patient and cares about your dental care and the service you receive. Just received my new dentures and they have been done to a very high standard and am very pleased. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the treatment/service I received.

Best dentist ever hands down. Least painful and least scary experiences here (I'm usually really scared of going to the dentist, and even find the initial anaesthetic injection painful) - they really care about the patient, and making sure you're comfortable, results are also fab. Seriously can't imagine a better dentist!

After lots of research I was very happy with the results and the service at Museum Dental. 100% I would recommend to a friend. I couldn't be more pleased.

Look your best, feel your best, expect the best.
