Since the introduction of Invisalign clear aligners, there has been several questions as to the type of dental problems it can fix. People have wondered if Invisalign aligners can also fix dental problems such as crowded teeth and overbite besides misaligned teeth. One of the questions people also ask is whether or not they can fix protruding front teeth with Invisalign.
Invisalign is an orthodontic system that produces clear aligners using modern computer-assisted technology. The clear aligners work by putting small amounts of pressure into moving your teeth to the desired place. Before your treatment, the software will produce the number of aligner trays that you will use to complete your treatment. You will have to change them every two weeks.
Before you begin treatment, your teeth will be scanned into a computer. This computer will create a simulation that will show the entire process your teeth will make during the treatment from beginning to final stages. It is the computer that will determine how long the treatment will take. Typically, treatment lasts up to two years. However, some treatments have been completed in just one year. It all depends on the amount of movement that is required.
An overbite is a dental problem whereby the upper front teeth stick out more than the lower jaw. It is often referred to as protruding front teeth and can be caused by skeletal or dental reasons.
Most overbite conditions are as a result of the teeth being in a wrong position. In cases like this, they can still be fixed with Invisalign aligners. In other cases where the skeletal issue of the underdeveloped lower jaw and overdeveloped upper jaw is the cause, the patient would have to undergo orthodontic surgery together with orthodontic treatment like Invisalign. In this case, you can have the front teeth straightened.
Yes, the front teeth can indeed be pushed back into place provided there is enough space for the teeth to go back to. Once there is enough space or room at the back of the protruding teeth, then the teeth will take up that space when it is pushed back. On the other hand, if there is no space or not enough room for the teeth to move back into, then there would have to be a removal of a premolar tooth. You can get the front teeth pushed back with Invisalign braces.
The answer is yes. This is possible provided there is space or room behind the protruding teeth for them to fall into. In some cases, it may look like the front teeth, especially the two front teeth are protruding when it actually isn’t. This happens when the lateral teeth on either side of the two front teeth are retruded, or not forward enough. As compared to these retruded ones, it would seem like the two front teeth stick out more than they should.
In this case, you might want to consider dental bonding. Dental bonding will build the retruded lateral teeth on the sides, bringing them forward, so the two front teeth don’t look too protruded.
Ideally, Invisalign aligners were produced for the correction of dental problems in the upper and lower jaws simultaneously. Nevertheless, there have been cases where Invisalign was only used on the upper jaw because they are usually more visible than the lower jaw. On that note, if your problem is only on the lower jaw, then there is no reason why you can’t get Invisalign for just the lower jaw only.
Invisalign aligners can fix several cosmetic orthodontic problems. It was produced mainly for straightening, aligning and moving teeth to its desired position. Based on that, Invisalign can fix crowded or misaligned teeth, overbite, underbite and crossbites.
For more serious dental or orthodontic problems like extreme malocclusion or widening of the jaw, special orthodontic procedures would have to be used, followed by other types of orthodontic treatment.

Highly recommend Museum Dental Suite. Their work is of the highest calibre, professional and friendly. I'm very thankful they for excellent aftercare advice and for making me relaxed and so well treated. I've recommended them to both my family and friends.
I have been undertaking a cosmetic treatment (Invisalign) for around eight months here, off the back of a recommendation of a friend who had the same treatment. The professionalism and perfectionism with which my treatment was delivered was outstanding, as was the general service and were all of the staff I encountered.
My dentist Dr. Wahab Shakir was particularly great, with a friendly, reassuring manner and an eye for detail. He always went above and beyond, without ever being asked.
I'm now almost at the end of my treatment and couldn't be more pleased with how treatment has gone. Given the service and end result I'd also consider it excellent value for money.
Keep up the good work Museum Dental Suites!
Firstly what a great dentist, all the staff were friendly and very helpful as this was my first time here.
I had called for an emergency appointment due to a sudden cracked tooth and Dr Wahab Shakir despite the end of day fast approaching (30 minutes till close) he said he would see me.
The treatment was not straight forward due to the crack but Dr Shakir after a lengthy time managed to save the tooth/restore it and prevent what I believe most dentists would have done which install a crown - Thank you!
Highly recommend this dentist and service and I am grateful for not only seeing me within an hour but also staying passed closing time and finally for doing a Stella job.
This is a top notch dentist who makes you feel at ease which for someone liked me is important. The staff are very professional, polite, courteous and friendly. Marios, my dentist is extremely patient and cares about your dental care and the service you receive. Just received my new dentures and they have been done to a very high standard and am very pleased. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the treatment/service I received.
Best dentist ever hands down. Least painful and least scary experiences here (I'm usually really scared of going to the dentist, and even find the initial anaesthetic injection painful) - they really care about the patient, and making sure you're comfortable, results are also fab. Seriously can't imagine a better dentist!
After lots of research I was very happy with the results and the service at Museum Dental. 100% I would recommend to a friend. I couldn't be more pleased.
