Porcelain bonded crowns

Procedure of Placing a Dental Crown

When placing a crown, your dentist will start by removing a damaged or decayed tooth. An impression of the tooth is taken and then sent to the laboratory to be manufactured. Finally, a temporary filling will be put in its place.

During following visit to your dentist, the temporary filling gets removed and the permanent crown is fixed into place with resin cement in order to bond the dental crown to your tooth. The dentist makes slight adjustments to ensure that it fits properly and does not affect the way you bite or chew.
